If you’ll be a ninth-grader next fall in the Woodrow Wilson High School attendance district, or if you’re a 9th grader anywhere in DISD for that matter, consider attending the school’s "Welcome to Woodrow" open house Tuesday, Dec. 8, beginning at 6:30 at the school. The main topic of discussion: Woodrow’s new college preparatory academies, which will be implemented in Fall 2010.

All freshmen attending the school will be required to opt into one of four academies — Math, Science and Technology; Business, Finance and Entrepreneurship; Performing Arts; and the much-discussed International Baccalaureate program. (Woodrow is currently a candidate to offer the IB program, pending approval of the IB people.)
