The Dallas Arboretum announced their 7th annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration, to take place on September 14 and 15.
The celebration begins on Saturday, September 14 at 10 a.m., with a Quinceañera Fashion Show in Rosine Hall on Arboretum grounds. After the show, live performances from a Mariachi band in the Entry Plaza and Las Estrellas de Tejas ballet folklorico in the Rodriguez Gazebo will take place. On the peripheries, a vendor market with food, art and more will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“These celebrations honor the rich cultural traditions of our Hispanic community and promote unity and understanding within our broader society,” said Regina Montoya, Dallas Arboretum Board Vice Chair. “We look forward to events filled with music, dance, food and education that showcase the diverse contributions of Hispanic Americans. As a proud Hispanic woman, I’m overjoyed to see public spaces, especially the Dallas Arboretum celebrating my culture. I’m excited for people to experience the planned activities and performances focused on highlighting Hispanic culture and traditions.”
Sunday’s festivities include a cooking demonstration from Urban Grill’s Lydia Gonzalez as well as a morning sound bath. The full schedule of events is available here. Entry to the celebration is included for all paid guests, tickets can be purchased online here. For the weekend, admission to the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden is free.
