The Woodrow Wilson HIgh School girls volleyball team advanced to a second-round playoff match after defeating Seagoville earlier this week. The next match is Friday vs. Frisco Wakefield; the game begins at 5:30 p.m. at DISD’s Ellis Davis Field House, 9191 S. Polk.

Also Friday, Woodrow’s football team faces Bryan Adams, with both teams still in the running for a playoff berth. Super alum Kyle Rains points out that Woodrow and BA are longtime rivals but hadn’t played each other for about 25 years until both wound up in division 4-A last year. According to a DMN story, if Woodrow beats BA or loses by no more than 17 points, the Wildcats will make the post-season playoffs; if BA wins by 18 points or more, they’ll be in the playoffs.
