For the Love of the Lake (FTLOTL), the non-profit that hosts Shoreline Spruce Up and other White Rock Lake-centric events, has its sights set on breaking a world record, but they need the help of 1000 neighbors to do it.

During the “I Heart The Lake” festival, coming up at Winfrey Point on Saturday, Nov. 14, FTLOTL plans to set a world record by forming the largest heart shape made from people.

They need 1000-plus people to pull it off.

Red rain ponchos will be provided to volunteers to fill in the red color of the heart shape, and they say the festival will be held from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in rain or shine.

FTLOTL is celebrating 20 years of volunteerism by raising funds to build a playground at Flag Pole Hill. They will have activities for kids, food trucks, beer, wine, music, local arts and crafts vendors, and raffle prizes. Among the prizes is a stand-up paddle board kit (valued at $600), an outdoor fire pit and a tandem sky-dive worth $1,000.
