Former football player Tim Brown, who graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and then went on to win a Heisman Trophy in 1987 before becoming one of the greatest wide receivers in the National Football League, released a book earlier this month.
“The Making of a Man: How Men and Boys Honor God and Live with Integrity” uses Brown’s struggles with life in the spotlight, his goals on the field and his path to becoming one of the most respected men in the sports world, as the backdrop to his book, which deals with questions like, “Where should young men and fathers turn for today’s examples of manhood?”
A brief skim through the advanced reader’s copy revealed an easy-to-read narrative that moves through Brown’s career while weaving in life lessons and thoughts about faith and family.
