East Dallas has had its fair share of Austin transplants, and when another Austin eatery named Haymaker arrived in Dallas in the fall of 2016, it looked like a recipe for success. Ample parking, outdoor seating and large big screen TVs gave the bar initial momentum. For neighbors who wanted to sit outside on Lower Greenville but not squeeze their way into the Truck Yard, Haymaker offered similar attractions.

But Haymaker shut its doors this week after just 14 months in business. In a Facebook post, the establishment wrote “We have given it our all but as of today we will be closing our doors. We are very grateful to have been a part of this community here in Dallas, TX and thank you for the memories.”
