Four friends who have taken regular trips to Asia over the past 15 years opened the first location in Orlando in 2011, the Dallas Morning News reported. Kaleb Harrell, Kin Ho, Allen Lo and Wayne Yung, the co-founders, like to eat street food in countries that they visit, such as Malaysia, Thailand and China.

The friends want to use their restaurants and menu offerings to transport diners to different countries. And now, East Dallasites can take part.

Hawkers is set to open in Deep Ellum at 2800 Main Street in November.

Visitors will be able to taste foods such as roti canai, a Malaysian flatbread served with a side of curry sauce. Some of the recipes come from members of the co-founders’ families who live in Asia.

The restaurant also serves Vietnamese coffee, which they make with Cafe du Monde beans.

According to its website, Hawkers offers dinner and alcoholic beverages. Some locations offer brunch.
