Girl Scouts will be setting up tables to sell cookies beginning today

If you’ve been Jones-ing for some Trefoils or craving Samoas and Tagalongs, take heart. Girl Scout cookie season kicks off today, and you’re likely to find some bright, entrepreneurial girls to help you satisfy your sweet tooth. Feeling adventurous? There’s a new cookie this year – the Girl Scout S’Mores – specially created to celebrate 100 years of selling cookies.

The Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas are the largest organization shaping young female leaders in the Metroplex, and the cookie program teaches leadership skills, business ethics, money management and a host of other valuable life lessons. In addition to raising money for troop activities, cookie sales support a wide variety of community projects. In 2016, more than 100,000 boxes were donated to local military veterans.

Thin Mints, Do-Si-Dos, Savanah Smiles, Tagalongs, Samoas and Trefoils sell for $4 per box. Girl Scout S’Mores and Toffee-Tastic are $5 per box.
