Have you noticed the Arby’s sign on Garland Road is gone? The Arby’s store at Garland and Moran closed last month. And the old-school sign was taken down about two weeks ago.

Arby’s started in Ohio in 1964, and the old cowboy-hat signs from that era are being replaced with modern signs, according to this 2009 story from an Ohio newspaper. We emailed Arby’s headquarters in Atlanta to see if they could tell us why the store closed, and we’ll let you know what they say.

Even though it was just an old fast-food joint, the Arby’s sign was something of a landmark for Garland Road. Its absence throws us off a little.
