In 2013 the Advocate detailed her journey from knowing nothing about photography to producing beautiful images of the people and places around her. The Performing Arts Academy student had become a star pupil in Russ Kelemen’s photography class where, according to Sanchez, the teacher balanced “pushing his students to do their best with belief in them to give them confidence.”

From photos of guitarists in Klyde Warren Park to sunsets over the Dallas skyline, Sanchez displayed a natural ability to catch the right image and a new love for an old medium.
