One person died, and two were injured Wednesday afternoon in a shooting outside a convenience store in Far East Dallas, police said.

The shooting happened at 2:40 p.m. in the 11700 block of Ferguson Road, near Interstate 635, the Dallas Morning News reported.

Authorities told the newspaper that a man walked up to three people in front of the store and started shooting. He fled in a black vehicle.

One victim died on the way to a hospital, according to the Morning News. Another person was critically injured, and a third had injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

An investigation is ongoing. No suspect has been named.
