Talk about getting out in front of an event: Mike Buchanan with the East Dallas Exchange Club just sent us a note about the group’s Feb. 26, 2016, fund-raiser featuring Baseball Hall of Fame broadcaster Eric Nadel with the Texas Rangers, along with MC Ian Fitzsimmons with ESPN.
Proceeds from the event will help establish a need-based Exchange Club-administered college scholarship in Nadel’s name, as well as help fund other Exchange Club initiatives such as coats for kids, books for kids, eyeglasses for kids, and other public school-oriented programs. The annual coat drive, for example, distributed 3,500 coats for underprivileged kids in 2014, including hundreds donated by neighborhood residents.
The group is selling tickets to the event for $250 apiece and tables of 10 for $2,000, and the event includes a dinner and live auction (presumably lots of sports items).
