The dive bar Elm St. Saloon in Deep Ellum (across from Trees) will shut down on Nov. 30 after five years in business.
“We want to thank everyone who has passed through our doors, whether it be once or a thousand times, and let you all know that it was the people who made this little place so special,” reads a statement from the bar’s Facebook page. “For five incredible years, these walls have held countless memories, laughter and love. It was truly our pleasure in serving the neighborhood. It has been an absolute honor to be part of the Deep Ellum community.”
The news was met with 271 reactions and 46 comments on Facebook as of this writing. Before Elm St. Saloon closes for good, patrons are encouraged to come in for one last beer or shot to “celebrate the good times and love that made Saloon what it is.”
“To our amazing clientele, cherished regulars and industry family, you will be greatly missed,” the statement continues. “Thank you to everyone who ever worked here, helped us out in a bind, cleaned a little or simply did something selflessly in the aid of the bar. It never went unnoticed or unappreciated. Thank you all for being a wonderful part of our journey.”
