Starting Friday, neighbors can take part in a philanthropic March Madness and help Aberg Center for Literacy in a bracket-style fundraising tournament called Brackets For Good.
The nonprofit has a chance to win $10,000 and hopes to expand its adult and early childhood programs. Currently, it serves 300 students to help families improve their literacy and fight poverty. Brackets for Good works with corporate sponsors and nonprofits to raise money for good causes around the country.
“Being a part of Brackets For Good is a slam dunk for the Aberg Center for Literacy. For the past 15 years, we’ve seen how low literacy and English fluency are connected to low income, poverty and the implications of parent-child roles being reversed,” said Aberg Center for Literacy Executive Director Shana Harrison in a press release. “As a result, our dedication to the two-generation approach is stronger than ever. Brackets For Good is helping us raise awareness and funds to continue our legacy of helping thousands of families in Dallas.”
