As Teacher of the Year finalists during the 2024-2025 academic year, Rachael Esquivel and Monica Robinson were awarded the grants alongside four other teachers in the school district. Esquivel teaches at the Innovation, Design, Entrepreneurship Academy at James W. Fannin, and Robinson at Robert T. Hill Middle School.

The grants, a surprise for all six teachers awarded, were made possible through donations by Human Capital Management, Dallas Education Foundation and Orangetheory Fitness/Maverick Fitness Holdings.

“Having DEF serve and recognize the Dallas ISD teacher community brings me an overwhelming sense of gratitude,” Robinson told the district. “Just knowing that the public cares enough to invest in our classrooms leaves me with a phenomenal feeling that I’m not doing this alone.”
