We’re channeling our inner Andrew Zimmern and searching for the most eccentric-yet-delicious menu items in East Dallas.

These dishes don’t have to be as extreme as, let’s say, coral worms or coconut tree grubs. We’re not nearly as adventurous as the Travel Channel’s “Bizarre Foods” star, and we doubt you’re willing to eat insects.

What we are seeking are unconventional ingredient combinations that are still objectively tasty but won’t make us fearful of E. coli. (No romaine lettuce either, please.)

Email your recommendations to echudwin@advocatemag.com by Tuesday, Nov. 27, to be considered for the Lakewood Advocate’s February magazine.

Oh, one more thing: When it comes to unusual eats, we’re about as brave as The Cowardly Lion in “The Wizard of Oz.” So we’re also looking for an adventurous neighbor willing to sample the food that we won’t. Email echudwin@advocatemag.com with a brief description about why you’re the perfect candidate for the experiment.
