bannerA couple of East Dallas guys, who are the primary players in the band Halcyon Exchange, are throwing an album release party tonight for their first full-length new album “Two Fell Swoops.”

Ever heard of live-instrument hip-hop? It’s probably not what you’d expect. Check it out the sample song on their website. If you want to hear more, the event starts tonight at 7 p.m. It’s outside the neighborhood at British Beverage Company, 2800 Routh St., so you’ll have to make that call. A $10 donation benefitting Hope Cottage is suggested for attendance, but if you go early to enjoy happy hour at the BBC, you’re welcome to stay.

The band’s key players are East Dallas-natives Stephen Goodson and Jay Nicholas Gray. They’ve also rounded out the band with drummer Tony Spiro and bassist Joel Zephrine. Together, they will be playing original music by Goodson and Gray, and maybe a favorite cover or two.
