Cooper England’s birthday party is going to the dogs — and cats.
Cooper is a preschooler at East Dallas Developmental Center in Lakewood and he just celebrated his fourth birthday. His mom, Jo England, emailed us to tell us about his altruistic birthday plans.
Instead of asking his friends and classmates to give him gifts, he collected dog and cat food to donate to the Dallas Animal Services Adoption Center. All told Cooper was able to donate about 200 pounds of dog and cat food.
As a thank-you for his donation, operations manager Dr. Cate McManus gave him a tour of the facility and let him give treats to the dogs and cats up for adoption.
“Cooper is a huge animal lover, and adores our chickens, cat, and two dogs (all rescues),” Jo says. “He’s already planning to do something similar for his next birthday too: collect toys and beds for all the cats and dogs at Dallas Animal Services Adoption Center.”
