The crudely painted sign says it all: “Closed due to drunk driver.” Around 3 a.m. Saturday, an unidentified drunk driver slammed into the storefront at 10238 Garland Road, causing structural damage to the building that houses Golden’s Keys in Casa Linda.
“We can’t let people in the front because it’s not safe,” says owner Robert Golden. “There could be falling bricks.”
His landlord’s insurance is handling the bulk of the damage, so Golden isn’t exactly sure when his business will be back up and operational. But he wants to ensure customer’s it’s not going anywhere.
“If someone needs us, they can call and we will let them around the back to get in,” he says. “We just can’t have walk-ins right now.”
