‘Don’t Dress For Dinner’ at Pocket Sandwich Theater.
Pocket Sandwich Theatre launches its comedy “Don’t Dress For Dinner,” the sequel to the story in “Boeing Boeing.” The show runs through Sept. 23, with performances at 8 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, and 7 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $13-$15 and available here.
Mi CASA Su CASA Men’s Night is Thursday night at 6 p.m at Dallas CASA at 2757 Swiss Ave. The free event benefits Court Appointed Special Advocates and will include barbecue, beer and information about becoming an advocate for abused children.
Labor day weekend will be a busy one at the Dallas Arboretum. There will be live music all weekend, food trucks, wine samplings, jumbo lawn games and giant bubble party. Check the website for the entire schedule.
The Bath House Cultural Center will host “The Essential Nature,” an exhibition of paintings and mixed media art by 12 local and regional artists, beginning on September 2 and running through the end of the month. There will be a reception with live music Saturday night at 7 p.m. All events are free and open to the public.
The Sound Minds Music Festival will be Thursday night at the Granada theater. The festival will be raise awareness for mental health resources in Dallas, and proceeds benefit Galaxy Counseling Center, Jonathan’s Place, and Suicide Center of North Texas. Music, a VIP dinner, and after party are included in tickets, which range from $20-$200.
Holistic nutritionist Leanne Vogel comes to Half-Priced Books to share her latest, “The Keto Diet.” She will discuss her views on food, and sign copies of the book on Thursday at 7 p.m.
White Rock Hills public library will be hosting a four week series over sitting, walking, standing and lying meditation. The next session is on Sunday at 2 p.m. and is free.
