Doctors Hospital at White Rock Lake —I’ve always perceived it as a fairly no frills neighborhood hospital. There’s nothing wrong with it (I had two children and an appendectomy there), but I never imagined it would be anything more than just the little neighborhood hospital, whose shortcomings and/or lack of bells and whistles were easy to forgive. But over the last couple-a years, they’ve changed the name (tacking on the ‘at White Rock Lake’ part, done quite an impressive remodel and now, they are opening the Women’s Imaging Center featuring state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment. The grand opening plans sounds pretty posh: a so-called “Day at the Spa” with hand and skincare treatments, massage, treats and tours. That’s this Saturday, January 31, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
