The Disco Run, produced by Dallas Athletes Racing, benefits Nobody’s Normal just in time for “Mental Health Awareness Month” in May. Nobody’s Normal is a new non-profit whose mission is to ease the isolation, ignorance, and discrimination that compound the suffering of individuals with mental disorders. The organization is taking action on three important fronts: to assemble a caring community for those with mental health issues and their families; to locate resources that can help empower individuals; and to build an activist movement to raise public awareness about mental illness through media campaigns and special events.

“I Will Survive” is the mantra as participants run the pleasantly flat 5K or 10K lengths at Fair Park with frequent well-stocked, DJ-manned Disco Aid stations.  For those who are ”Stayin’ Alive” to the finish, they will receive a brand-new tie-dyed T-shirt and giant disco medallion at the post-race party that will feature fun disco music, hot pancakes and more.
