Dilla Coffee Roasting, which will be to-go only, applied for a certificate of occupancy at 3823 Ross Ave. earlier this month. The application for the business, classified as a general merchandise or food store, is still in review.

Previously, the spot was the site of Classic Tailor.

The spot, not far from the intersection of Ross and Haskell avenues, is located in an area that’s seen a recent increase in restaurants. Loro opened just down the street on Haskell, and Salad and Go also debuted on Ross this year.

It also falls in a neighborhood experiencing population growth. For example, Trammell Crow Residential plans to build a 384-unit apartment complex on Ross, joining several other of the builder’s properties on Bennett Avenue and Ross Avenue between Caddo Street and Haskell Avenue.
