The northeast police division has a new commander, Andrew Acord.
Acord was reassigned to the northeast, which oversees law enforcement in Lake Highlands and much of East Dallas, after Dallas Police Chief David Brown disciplined him last week and removed him from his post as deputy chief of the narcotics division.
Brown told the Morning News the move was “part of a wider reorganization of the department’s command structure.”
We will get a chance to meet Acord when he facilitates a crime summit Tuesday, March 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church, 11000 Northwest Highway.
