Everything’s bigger in Texas, and anything can be battered and fried.
A new reality series on the A&E network, Deep Fried Dynasty, shows State Fair of Texas vendors in a quest to win the Big Tex Choice Awards, which comes with bragging rights as well as Texas-sized profits.
Among them are the Reaves brothers, Juan and Brent, who grew up in Oak Cliff, and Lakewood resident Abel Gonzales Jr., who calls himself “Fried Jesus.”
The series, which takes place over 24 days, shows how millions of dollars are on the line for creations like deep-fried butter.
It premieres March 8.
