The banners were designed by firms based in the historic neighborhood, including Matchbox Studio, Belmont Icehouse and TRG. Cimone Key Creative Studio also created a banner, as well as the logo for the milestone year.

Matchbox Studio has created for the State Fair of Texas, The Joule and Fuzzy’s Taco Shop. Belmont Icehouse has worked with the Dallas Opera and DART. TRG, a national firm that recently opened an office on Commerce Street, has created for Home Depot and Chick-fil-A.

The Deep Ellum Foundation, which is coordinating with local businesses and organizations to host events this year, also used streetlight pole banners to celebrate winter holidays in 2021.

In addition to the banners, Deep Ellum is asking for nominations of 150 people, who will be photographed and included on streetlight pole banners to be installed later this year.

Residents, employees and other Deep Ellum stakeholders are eligible to be featured.

A video has also been created to begin the anniversary year. It includes photos from local photographers, personal collections, the Deep Ellum Community Association and the Deep Ellum Foundation. Local musician Ducado Vega created the music. Watch it below.
