The Dallas Police Department is searching for a man that is alleged to have sexually assaulted a female runner at the White Rock Lake Trail near the 4800 block of W. Lawther Drive.

On Thursday, May 30, at about noon, the victim was running on the trail when an unknown male suspect attacked the victim from behind and sexually assaulted her, police said.

The unknown suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’5”, skinny with a small belly, short clean cut red hair and a beard. He was last seen wearing a blue crew neck shirt. He could possibly have scratches on his face and body.

Detectives are working to identify the suspect.

“Dallas Police ask residents near the reported offense to be on the lookout for any suspicious persons matching the suspect description, and to contact police to report any suspicious activity or persons,” Dallas police said in a new release. “As always, Dallas Police encourage the public to practice good safety measures at all times. This includes always paying attention to your surroundings, going out with another person, letting a trusted friend or family member know where you will be, and stay in well-lit areas at night.”

Investigators ask that anyone with information about the incident or who sees any suspicious individuals matching the suspect’s description call 911.
