The City of Dallas launched an open call for concepts and ideas revolving around City Hall and the nearby city-owned property on Monday.

According to a Friday, April 3 memo from City Manager Kimberly Bizor Tolbert, the City is seeking “preliminary perspectives from the market and the community regarding potential adaptive reuse of the existing building as well as redevelopment opportunities for the broader City Hall site and adjacent acreage.”

The adjacent acreage includes the city-owned property that will become available upon the completion of the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center. That expansion includes roughly 20 to 30 acres, according to The Dallas Morning News.

Residents, stakeholders, architects, designers, urban planners, developers and community organizations are invited to submit. Respondents are asked to address six topics for consideration when putting together the proposal: economic impact, adaptive reuse/redevelopment, Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center alignment, community impact, connectivity and logistics.

The deadline to submit responses is 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 3. For more information on submission guidelines, visit here.
