Judges Shequitta Kelly, Stephanie Mitchell, Lisa Green and Amber Givens were the guests of honor with a red carpet laid out for photos with attendees before and after the screening.

K104 Radio host DeDe McGuire introduced panelists and moderated a Q&A with Kamiyah Bell, a student who benefitted from Pipeline to Possibilities.

Lawyer Russell Wilson led the first panel discussion for the night with Dallas ISD board member and nonprofit founder Bernadette Nutall, prison reform activist Antong Lucky and Gary “Vito” Walker, who was incarcerated for 21 years after a wrongful conviction.

Following the panel, the Dear… episode was screened. Ava Duvernay narrated her life story and read a letter from the judges detailing how her film 13th inspired them to launch their program in Dallas ISD high schools.
