I’ve got a few potential posts based on the Lakewood Heights Neighborhood Association meeting, but this one seems to be the most "crime" related.
Dallas Police Officer Keith Allen talked a bit about police operations. Without getting too technical, the police department is going through a reorganization on Oct. 22 and Lakewood Heights, as well as some of the surrounding neighborhoods, are moving from the edge of several sub-stations to the middle of the Central Sub-Station. The bottom line is that it should increase the amount of random patrol cars in the neighborhood and increase availability of officers for residential issues since they won’t have responsibility for Lower Greenville.
Officer Allen also gave the phone number for the Central Sub-Station Watch Commander: 214-670-4413. His instructions were that if you don’t get a reasonable response after calling 911, call the Watch Commander number and they’ll follow up with a direct dispatch. Keep in mind this is for the Central Sub-Station only, so make sure you know your own sub-station before using this number.
