White Rock Pharmacy on Garland Road reports second break in.

Two suspects who broke into White Rock Pharmacy on Garland Road near Emerald Isle, apparently looking for drugs, are at large. The pharmacy owner told police it is not the first time. In April, he reported a break-in in which thieves made off with the pharmacy’s stock of extra-strength hydrocodone, a potent narcotic, and promethyzene, an antihistamine/ anti-nausea med.

This time, early Monday morning, a surveillance camera caught one suspect entering the pharmacy through the ceiling. According to the police report it is a black male, 25-30 years old, 6 foot, 190 pounds, with a goatee, Nike shoes and a light-colored stocking cap.

A second suspect assisted the first, but he or she was not captured in the video. The two brought along a black trash bag, which they filled with lower-strength hydrocodone — the owner stopped carrying the extra-strength following the first break in — albuterol sulfate syrup, used to treat asthma, and cetiriline hydrochloride syrup, used to treat allergies in children.

Based on the report, by the time the pharmacy’s security/alarm company was alerted to the break-in, the crooks had already fled the scene.
