Jordan August, who lives on Swiss Avenue, and his brother, Evan, have spent the past year redeveloping the Continental Gin Company building through their real estate development firm, August Real Estate Co. They then partnered with Common Desk to position the building as a more modern setting.

“Together, we’re delivering our shared vision of a modern, energetic, creative office environment with current technology and a curated selection of amenities,” said Evan August, principal at August Real Estate, in a statement. “We couldn’t be more pleased with Common Desk’s level of service, design expertise, attention to detail and proactive approach to marketing and leasing.”

Common Desk’s design department will handle furniture, fixtures and equipment for all three floors of the building. There will also be co-working space across the second floor’s 22,000 square feet. The third floor will have 22,000 square feet of fully furnished spec suites.

“We’re incredibly excited to play a bigger role in the Deep Ellum neighborhood as an industry innovator and advocate for the office offering of the future,” said Nick Clark, founder and CEO of Common Desk, in a statement. “Unlike the new ground-up office projects in Deep Ellum, the Continental Gin building has a rich history in the neighborhood. We’re excited to respect that history with the new artistic/boutique design, hospitality offering and unique aspects [that have] always set the building apart. It’s truly going to be a holistic offering the market has yet to see.”

The Continental Gin building is located at 3309 Elm St. The newly renovated building is slated to open within the first quarter of 2021.
