So it’s not on NBC, but instead it’s taking place on the stage of J.L. Long Middle School, 6116 Reiger, this weekend: Voyage to Consolation Island is the latest creation of David and Beverly Hirsch (the school’s choir director and her husband) and features a veritable cast of hundreds — Long’s choir students fill the stage and aisles with talent during the show.

Billed as an original musical “quest for treasure by pirates and stow-way zombies along with a few other surprises thrown in for laughs”, showtime is 7:30 p.m. at tickets are $10 at the door. For more information, call 972-502-4700 or visit the school’s website.
