Jack’s Southern Comfort Food is a new concept from Dallas restaurateur Scott Jones expected to open Oct. 1 on Lower Greenville.

The restaurant was inspired by a “shut-the-front-door” biscuit recipe, according to a media release, and will feature a seasonally rotating menu of upscale takes on classic southern food.

House specialties will include upside-down pot pies, a biscuit burger and a BLFGT, that is, a bacon, lettuce and fried green-tomato sandwich served on a biscuit. There will also be salads, vegetarian fare and gluten-free choices.

And the biscuits are not just biscuits. Cinnamon biscuits, sticky biscuits, caramelized onion biscuits, goat cheese and thyme and caprese are among the creations.

Jones was one creative force behind the Screen Door. Jack’s Southern Comfort Food is expected to open Oct. 1 at 1905 Greenville.
