Texas A&M University College of Dentistry on Gaston Avenue has dropped initial deposit fees that were charged to its potential adult patients, who are treated by students under licensed clinical faculty supervision.
Now, those wanting to become patients are charged $120 flat for registration, a screening appointment and X-rays, according to a press release from the college. If they aren’t accepted as patients, they won’t be charged. This change is expected to result in $194 of savings for oral health care that is already discounted.
“We know budget constraints often keep people from seeking the oral health care they need,” Professor and Head of Comprehensive Dentistry Dr. Erica Teixeira said in the press release. “We are committed to expanding access to high-quality, affordable oral health care across the communities we serve. Restructuring our fees is an important step toward achieving this goal.”
Treatment at the college is available for children and adults. Find more information here.
