M Streets neighbor U.S. Rep. Colin Allred joined several members of Congress in a Thanksgiving trip to Kuwait, where they served dinner to soldiers before heading to Afghanistan to meet with military leaders, according to the Dallas Morning News.
Allred said he wanted to spend time with the troops to show how much he cares about them.
“We wanted to go and see firsthand what our active duty servicemen and women are facing,” he said.
