You’ve probably seen the sign: “Now serving food.” And it’s true. Food is back at the Cock and Bull, and it’s better than ever, says general manager Robert Cornwell. Cornwell, along with owners Shawn Tang and John Rose, have made sure of that. “We wanted something a little better than your standard grub — not bar food,” Tang says. “We’ve got the burgers, but also steak.” And also a menu full of crowd-pleasers such as hearty Bratwurst and savory Chicken Picata. And Cornwell, a native Cajun, takes his turn at the burners every now and then to create some of his favorites, such as seafood gumbo, a dish often requested by the bar’s loyal clientele.
