If you’re tired of seeing litter around East Dallas, you can do something about it this weekend and get some free stuff while you’re at it.

The annual Trash Bash Music Stash is taking place Saturday morning at the Truck Yard. Trash Bash founder Brandon Giannasi says the event begins at 10 a.m. when volunteers will be dropped off by a party bus along a trash pick-up route.

“This year we are expecting up to 250 volunteers,” Giannasi says.

Volunteers will be given gloves, bags and equipment to pick up trash, and walk back to the Truck Yard cleaning up litter as they go. When they get back, volunteers will receive a t-shirt, a $5 gift card to the Truck Yard and a chance to win raffle prizes. Local musicians will also perform sets all morning. This year’s line up features Aaron Puzey performing at 11:30 a.m., Giannasi at noon, Paul Slavens at 12:30 p.m. and Poppy Xander at 1 p.m.

The past two years volunteers have cleaned up more than 8,500 pounds of litter and nearly 50 bags of recyclable material from the streets.

Clean-up routes will be along Ross, Henderson and Greenville Ave.
