Doctors Hospital at White Rock Lake recently was named winner of the Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce’s annual Hensarling Business Award. Nominations were solicited from chamber members and neighbors, and a chamber committee selected Doctors. Congressman Jeb Hensarling, namesake for the annual award, presented award to Doctors Hospital’s Jay Krishnaswamy.
The chamber also presented a number of other business awards, including:
Entrepreneur of the Year, Mariel Street with Liberty Burger in Lakewood.
Chairman’s Award, Marybeth Shapiro with Republic Title and Sherryl Wesson with Ebby Halliday Realtors, Lakewood.
Live Local/Small Business Award, Sherry Campbell with Nothing Bundt Cakes White Rock.
Live Local/Medium-Large Business Award, Whole Foods Market Lakewood.
Live Local/Non-profit Award, Roger Perry with Lakehill Preparatory School.
The chamber’s semi-annual MEET East Dallas business networking meeting is Sept. 24 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at C.C. Young’s The Point building, 4833 W. Lawther at Mockingbird. Neighborhood business owners and residents are invited to the event, which includes light food and refreshments sponsored by Cultivar Coffee, Go 4 It Sports Grill, The Lake House Bar and Grill, Totum Foods (chocolate) and Urban Vines. A $5 entry fee at the door benefits the Aberg Literacy Center. The event typically brings out between 200-300 attendees. Register in advance or at the door.
