Closures are planned to begin 7 a.m.-5 p.m. May 23 and could last through May 27. Traffic will be reopened after 5 p.m. each day.

This will only affect a short segment of the westbound traffic, from Greenville Avenue to Central Expressway.

In other traffic news, two public meetings are scheduled for next week to allow neighbors to provide feedback on the proposed changes for I-345. The Texas Department of Transportation is conducting a feasibility study for improvements to the road.

Though this is slightly outside the Advocate’s distribution area, many East Dallas residents and Dallasites in general may have opinions about it. The highway also bisects District 14.

The first meeting will be 5:30-7:30 p.m. May 24 at St. Philip’s School and Community Center (1600 Pennsylvania Ave.). Face masks are required for this meeting, and there will be a temperature check.

Another meeting is scheduled for 3-6:30 p.m. May 26 at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel’s Dallas Ballroom (400 Olive St.).

Both meetings are structured as an open house.
