A patrol and undercover officer last week interrupted and caught a burglar in the act in the Forest Hills neighborhood of East Dallas. At about 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 8, the alleged burglar was nabbed under a vacant under-construction home on San Cristobal, where he had been attempting to lift copper from the AC Unit. An alert neighbor called the owner of the home, David Anderson, who also lives in Forest Hills, and the police. When a patrol officer arrived along with a plain-clothes cop, a brief foot chase ensued.

According to Sgt. R. C. Dillon of the Northeast Investigative Unit, the suspect lives at Charles and Ferguson and walked to the scene. He has a record of misdemeanor offenses, but no felony convictions on his record, Dillon says.
