The Grape’s chef-owner Brian Luscher has a vision to grow his handmade hot dog business, Post Oak Red Hots, beyond White Rock Local Market. By the end of the year, that dream may become a reality.

The Lower Greenville restaurant owner and Chicago native began selling his hand-made sausages topped with made-from-scratch condiments at White Rock Market two years ago. Since then Post Oak has garnered a loyal following, which was the plan from the beginning.

Before his debut at the White Rock Market, Luscher told Advocate that he wanted to use the market as an incubator for his “micro business,” with the goal of opening a physical location.

Initial plans to open a storefront off of Gaston in East Dallas for his sausage “biz” were derailed by parking issues, so Luscher has shifted his efforts into a different spot, Dallas Observer reports.

Now he is in the permit process for a location on Commerce Street in Deep Ellum. Luscher tells the Dallas Observer that he is hoping for a November opening. Along with the hot dogs, menu items will include gyros and Italian beef sandwiches.

While you wait to check out the Deep Ellum digs, you can get your Red Hots fix at either Green Grocer on Lower Greenville or the White Rock Local Market.
