Stop by Hello Dumpling in East Dallas tomorrow to read a book and enjoy free boba tea.

The event is being put on by Wholly Informed Sex Ed, a nonprofit that provides young people in North Texas with an inclusive, equity-based and comprehensive sexual health education.

WISE will offer a selection of banned books at the read-in. Guests can also take a free copy of Jim Schutze’s The Accommodation: The Politics of Race in an American City, while supplies last.

“We believe in the freedom for everyone to access diverse points of view and life-saving information,” WISE Executive Director Sherri Cook says in a press release.

Almost all of the top 10 most-challenged books in 2021, according to the American Library Association, were banned, challenged and/or restricted because of complaints of “sexually explicit” or LGBTQ content.

Hello Dumpling is located at 1146 Peavy Road. Stop by 11 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Sept. 22.
