The DMN has a story today outlining the rationale behind moving Bankston (formerly Steakley) Chevrolet from its Northwest Highway/Abrams Road location to a spot at LBJ and the Tollway that formerly was W.O. Bankston Lincoln Mercury. Most of the story deals with auto business jabber, but at the end, there’s a paraphrased comment from Mike Maroone, president of Florida-based AutoNation, which owns Bankston, talking about the now-vacant Northwest Highway site, which AutoNation apparently is continuing to lease: The site "will be redeveloped, but probably not for something auto-related."
