There was another shooting near the Santa Fe Trail over the weekend.

Dallas police officers responded to a shooting call in the 5200 block of Santa Fe Avenue around 6:18 p.m. Aug. 6.

Two men were arguing, and the argument escalated when one of them shot the other in the foot. The suspected shooter, 45, left the location, and the victim, 38, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are still investigating the shooting.

This is at least the third shooting that has occurred within a few blocks on Santa Fe Avenue within the past several months.

On July 15, artist Antonio “Tony” Lechuga was shot twice while he was jogging on the Santa Fe Trail; he’s now recovering. And in June, 14-year-old Jordan Perez was shot and killed near the Old East Dallas Work Yard Park.
