Or an Independent who loves Hillary? Or a Democrat who can’t get enough of McCain’s straight talk or Huckabee’s one-liners?

I heard questions floating around my office today about whether people could vote in the Democratic primary if they are registered as Republicans. I also just heard from my sister, who received two phone calls from the Obama campaign tonight (both from human beings, not a Ron Kirk recording). When she hung up, my sister realized she had forgotten to ask whether she was allowed to vote in the Democratic primary since she’s a registered Independent.

Good news — you can vote for whomever you want in tomorrow’s primary because we do not acutally "register" by party in Texas. For a lot of Republicans, that might mean voting tomorrow for the Democratic candidate you would least detest come November — or for the one you think is most beatable. And no matter how you vote in the primary, you can still vote for whomever you want in the general election.
