Emerald City created a big dance party during the band’s show at the Dallas Arboretum Thursday night. That show, which is part of the arboretum’s Cool Thursday concert series, sold out early this week. Every show so far this season, the series’ 12th, has been a sell-out, said Terry Lendecker, the arboretum’s spokeswoman.

At $7 and $14, the tickets are affordable, it’s the only live music venue on White Rock Lake and concert-goers can bring their own drinks and snacks, Lendecker said. And the bands are pretty cool, too. She thinks that’s why the 2,700 tickets for each show go fast. They usually sell out the week of the show. Next Thursday’s show is Brave Combo. Lendecker recommends buying tickets early. "It’s like anything else," she said. "When you see something you want, you should grab it."
