Annie’s Culinary Creations specializes in decadent cakes and extravagant cookies. The family-owned business also has become accustomed to dealing with break-ins — something that isn’t part of the owners’ job descriptions.

So Miller wasn’t surprised when police said the man smashed the bakery’s front window Wednesday, Nov. 21, at about 3:45 a.m. Surveillance footage shows the man scouring the register for money, which he didn’t find.

The attempted theft left the shop with about $1,000 in damage.

“We have to deal with it and just keep baking,” Miller told the Morning News.
