Is my old pal Jim Schutze having a giggle at D magazine’s expense?
Schutze reports that, given D’s woefully weak effort to discredit the Trinity toll road referendum, referendum guru Angela Hunt exchanged e-mails with Tim Rogers, the editor of plastic surgery’s favorite local magazine. Rogers wanted to attend a meeting with highway officials that Hunt set up, and she gave him conditions: "You must also post [on your blog] that unnamed sources tell you that referendum advocates will take the opportunity to recant and explain how [publisher] Wick [Allison’s] persuasive advertorials convinced them that they didn’t need to think for themselves after all and that voting makes their widdle heads hurt."
There is more, and it’s really funny. If Angela really wrote that, I know who to ask to fill in for me when I have to go out of town on assignment later this month.
