It’s official: The Ali Baba restaurant on Lower Greenville has closed, and the new Lakewood Ali Baba — located in the old Carrabba’s spot across from LaVista & Abrams — will open Wednesday, according to a loyal reader who passed this information along. Work has been proceeding at the new location for the past few months, with the sign popping up a few days ago and inside fixtures being set in place, so it was just a matter of time. Hopefully, since Ali Baba brings an existing and loyal neighborhood clientele, it will fare better than the last few occupants — an Italian restaurant, a liquor store and a movie rental place.
